Commitment to Care Poster

This poster summarises what your venue is working to achieve and reminds staff about your Gambling Harm Minimisation Policy. You can customise this poster by adding your venue/society/club name and logo. Please display this poster where venue staff and customers will regularly see it (for example in the staff room, the harm minimisation folder, near the bar and inside the gaming room).

Gambling Harm Logbook Templates (portrait and landscape versions)

This template has been developed for those venues that don’t already have an existing daily log for recording incidences and observations of gambling harm.

If you do not already have a logbook/incident register, we recommend printing this out and placing it in a location where staff can easily refer to it on a daily basis. This may be located with your cancel credit/hopper refill sheets. Note: you must ensure that customers cannot read it.

Gambling Harm Reference Card - A4 laminated card

This is a quick reference card for frontline staff, outlining both the signs of harmful gambling to watch out for, plus ways to correctly respond. All staff should be familiar with these signs and the recommended actions.

Place these A4 cards in high visibility staff areas – attached on a wall behind the bar, beside the till, in a staff area. Put a copy in your gaming manual.

Additionally you should give postcards to each staff member.

Put the stickers in the front of your gambling log book/incident register.

Everyday Tips for Gambling Hosts - A4 laminated card

These tips have been developed to support all frontline staff working in gambling host responsibility. All staff should be familiar with these and practice them daily.

Place these in areas that are clearly visible to staff along with the A4 Gambling Harm Reference Card. Copies could be attached on a wall behind the bar, beside the till, in the staff room or on a staff noticeboard.

Legal Poster

The purpose of this poster is to make gamblers aware that staff may approach them. This is a useful reference to support staff when interacting with gamblers.

Place at least one of these posters up in the gambling area so it is clearly visible to all players. You may like to place the second copy in the bathroom, beside an ATM machine or near an outside smoking area.

Legal Sign

Similar to your alcohol host responsibility signage, this sign makes gamblers aware of your venue's legal obligations (the law). This is a useful reference for staff when interacting with gamblers.

Put one sign up beside the bar - for example beside your existing alcohol signage. You may like to place the other in the entrance to the gambling area.

Harm minimisation posters

You are legally required to display harm minimisation signage in your venue that is clearly visible to all players. By displaying at least one of these posters in the gambling area you will meet that requirement. These messages are particularly relevant to gamblers experiencing a high degree of harm. We recommend different versions, as people experiencing harm often relate to different messages.

Please place at least one of these posters in your gaming area. It is recommended that you also position posters in the bathrooms, beside an ATM machine and/or near an outside smoking area.

Harm minimisation wallet leaflet

This discreet wallet-sized leaflet is designed for gamblers who may be experiencing harm. Venues are legally required to provide information about the odds of winning and the characteristics of gambling harm. These leaflets meet this requirement.

These leaflets should be placed in the gambling area for gamblers to pick up and/or beside the bar – that way staff can hand a copy to patrons who show signs of harmful gambling. Also place them in the bathrooms. Venues have reported that leaflets are popular in bathrooms because patrons can pick them up discreetly when no one is watching.
